FAQ's
Are they comfortable to wear?
You should be able to do perform normal activities with the brace. The brace will keep you from bending forward to maintain spinal alignment. It should be uncomfortable when you begin moving into positions you should avoid.
How often should I wear my LSO?
This largely is determined by the physician who prescribed the brace. A good rule of thumb is to put the brace on before beginning strenuous activities that increase your back pain or put you at risk of injury like gardening, lifting heavy objects, or driving long distances. Unless otherwise directed, the LSO should not be worn all day and not worn at night.
Do I wear it over a shirt or under?
LSOs should be worn over a light shirt (undershirt, t-shirt) and can have any additional shirt or jacket worn on top. It is best not worn directly on the skin.
